Let's Play

It's been another Manic Monday. Fortunately, I had the day off. I'm able to do what I love to do during my free time: PLAN! Tonight I'm planning Kristen's sweet 16th birthday party. If I have said it once I'll say it again: I can not believe that my sister is turning 16. Time has flown by so fast. I still remember that Easter Sunday she came into this world. She was my mom's easter bunny.

There's only been one problem that I've stumbled across during my planning process, Now, don't get me wrong, I love my sister do death, but she's the complete opposite of me. She's being so fickle about what she wants to do and how to celebrate her special day. *Side note: I believe God puts people in our lives for a reason- to test our patience.* So, in the midst of her predictable, unpredictaments, I'm going to plan the party how my mom planned my sweet 16th party. Here's how it went:

-She rented a limo to take a group of us to the Marriott.
-The Marriott had a room set up for us and served us a sit down dinner.
-We swam in the in-door pool, and played volley ball on their so-called "beach front."

One thing that I realized tonight was how blessed I have been for having such fortunate memories. I always had fun birthdays, and my wedding was straight out of a fairy tale for me. How lucky can one girl be? I hope I'm able to provide my children with such excitement and love my parents gave me during those special times in my life.

At one point in my life, let's call this era the "dark age," I didn't I appreciate anything my family did for me. Looking back on this, I now cringe at that ignorant, selfish behavior. How dare I take people for granted and in the end looking like a spoiled brat. Now that I'm older, and if not sounding too vain, wiser, I enjoy the festivities more than wanting more and more out of them. I try to capture all the excitement and happiness in my mind to keep forever. Ok, yes, this sounds so cliche but it's the truth!
